Product Description Plug the Logitech X-530 into your PC, music player, DVD player, or even your PlayStation or Xbox game console and immerse yourself in clean, crisp, consistent surround sound from your games, movies, and more. The high-tech subwoofer adjusts itself dynamically to deliver distortion-free bass. And the five wall-mountable satellite speakers use Logitech's patented FDD2 technology to eliminate the uneven sound response created by conventional dual-driver designs. The result: a clear, uniform sound field without the "hot spots" and inconsistency of other dual-driver satellites.
Amazon.com Product Description Immerse yourself in crisp, consistent surround sound while watching movies or playing games with the Logitech X-530 5.1 speaker system. Designed to plug directly into your PC, DVD player, portable music device, or even a PlayStation2 or Xbox game console, the system is a must for listeners who want to enjoy the splendor of multichannel audio without spending hundreds of dollars. The X-530 comes with four 7.4-watt satellite speakers and a 15.5-watt center speaker, each with a pair of 2-inch drivers, along with a 25-watt subwoofer with a 5.25-inch woofer. The five wall-mountable main speakers employ Logitech's patented Frequency Directed Dual Driver (FDD2) technology to eliminate the uneven audio response created by conventional dual-driver designs, resulting in a clear, uniform sound. Meanwhile, the high-tech subwoofer adjusts itself dynamically to deliver distortion-free bass. The satellite speakers measure 2.5 by 8 by 3 inches (W x H x D), a size that's compact enough to fit on most computer desks, but still big enough to provide an expansive sound. Listeners will also appreciate the separate master volume and subwoofer level controls, which are easily accessible for quick, convenient access. Additional features include a headphone jack for private listening and color-coded audio cables that help simplify setup. Users should note a game console adapter is required to connect the X-530 to an Xbox, PlayStation2, or DVD player. The system also carries a two-year warranty on parts and labor. What's in the Box Four satellite speakers, center speaker, subwoofer, color-coded audio cables, warranty card, user's manual.

I'm happy with my purchase August 8, 2008 The speakers are a notable difference from my old ones. And the bass is a wonderful new addition. Only issues is/was, I was unaware that I need to buy another sound card to make it "Surround" sound, but thats just me being naive. But Good product, and they look cool.
Good, but... June 12, 2008 I bought this 5.1 speaker system for my computer, mostly to have the 5.1 capability for new games. They are about what I expected from the description and reviews.
The Good: They sound good and are easily loud enough for my 10'x10' computer room. Controls are good, although you must keep the front right speaker within reach if you plan to use the volume control, earphone jack, or power switch.
The Bad: The cables are too short even for my small room. This seems to be the most common problem among all these speaker systems. Ideally, they should use plain old speaker wire connectors so you don't have to spend a lot of money buying connectorized extension cables. Secondly, the vertical form factor makes them top heavy and easy to tip over, also a problem common to many other similar products.
Great Product June 11, 2008 Great sounding speakers, I can turn them very loud and get no fuzz. I know three other people that have purchased these speakers and none of them have any complaints about them as far as i know. For the price I dont believe a better set of speakers can be found.
WOW June 3, 2008 I bought these speakers because all the other speakers (regular desktop speakers) had been broken one way or the other (and it just so happened the one to break was always the main speaker). I put in the order and received my package in 2 days!! This is amazing to me, especially since the scheduled delivery date was june 2nd to june 5th (i received them on may 31st). BUY Now is a great company and these speakers are great. of course my laptop doesnt support 5.1 surround sound so i now have to buy an adapter (not a prob with me) but the 2 speaker (out of 5) that do work, sound amazing. I can only imagine how they're going to sound when all 5 do work!! And you can trust me on how loud these speakers are, seeing as I love to blast my music (i even was asked to turn down my iPod on the bus because they were too loud for a person seating in the back of the buds; where i was in the front!). Great buy for so cheap!!
You get what you pay for April 28, 2008 I purchased these speakers over a year ago, impressed with their price and with their advertised features. I had just purchased a 5.1 surround sound card, and was eager to have a set of complimentary speakers. Logitech being a good brand, I assumed that the speakers would reflect this value. However, I do NOT recommend purchasing them. I have several issues and complaints with them. For one, the speakers are not designed very well. The connecting cords are too short for many realistic setups, the cords are too stiff to bundle or manage easily, and the general setup is awkward and trying, forcing unnatural, unwanted speaker placement with lots of exposed, ugly cords. After using the speakers for about a month, the volume knob (found on the right front speaker) began to malfunction and ONLY control the front right speaker. The volume for the rest of the system was independant (and I could only set it using the computer's volume controls). This was very annoying, but I resolved it by simply setting the right speaker at an equivilant volume to the rest of the system, and then adjusting it with the pc's controls. Then, 3 or 4 months into their usage, I began to get random, extremely loud bass disruptions. Whether I was using the speakers or not, if they were on, they would randomly BELCH and BELLOW an awful, load noise from the subwoofer. It was evident that a connection of some variety was loose, being poorly constructed and set up. The case is not easily taken apart on the subwoofer. I tried unscrewing the back plate, but there is no cord slack, and you cannot remove it or the internals at all. I didn't force it, and simply closed it up. I found the only way to stop the bass belching was to slap, rather hard, the side of the sub. Eventually, I started getting bass "pings" that sounded like something randomly bouncing or striking the sub. These were not fixable, but they were sporadic. However, not too much time went by before the system was completely unusable. I've now purchased the Logitech z 5500 series speakers, which cost entirely more, but will undoubtably be worth it. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002WPSBC/ref=dp_cp_ob_title_0 While the x-530's sound pretty good, they lack much control over individual speaker settings, tone, etc. Their sound in no way makes up for the poor construction and design that went into them. I honestly recommend saving your money for a better set of speakers. While these are cheap, you absolutely get what you pay for (cheap speakers), and you are wasting your [...]$. Better to save it and get something a step up.
