 Great machine!! September 3, 2008
This was everything I wanted in a machine, only wish it came with a carrying case. Battery holds a charge for at least eight hours and the sound is more than I expected.

I wanted an iPod stereo player that I could put in the kitchen that wouldn't take up too much space, and this is perfect. It works well with my iPod classic and the FM radio sounds good too. I liked it so much that I got a second one for my husband to use at work.

Altec Lansing inMotion iM600 Portable Audio System for iPod I purchased this speaker system to use when I teach my cardio dance and yoga classes at a recreation center. The sound remains excellent when the volume is turned up. Unfortunately my ipod Classic consistantly malfunctions either by stopping in the middle of a song or skipping to the next song in the middle of a song. The dock doesn't seem to hold the ipod snuggly so the connection is not complete. I love the size, weight and sound of this speaker system. I just wish the ipod would be reliable when it's used in this system. The advance and rewind buttons & the tiny little remote don't work consistantly either. I have no need for the FM radio or alarm clock, but this was the only portable and affordable system with quality sound boost that fit my needs. The price has already dropped since I purchased this a few weeks ago. It would be nice if it came with a carrying case. I bought a lap top computer case to tote it around.
Good sound for size August 31, 2008
You have to remember that this a portable unit and will easily fit into a carry on bag. It doesn't have a deep base sound that you would find in a home system. The remote works from 30 feet away and lets you adjust volume and forward/back through songs which comes in handy. The remote fits into the back of the unit and is hidden when you collapse the base. When you open up the base it acts as a stand and provides the cradle for the Ipod. It comes with different plastic adapters which snap into the cradle to make it look more like a custom fit. I found the Ipod to be quite secure but a little hard to line up with the contacts. I had it around a camp fire and friends were impressed with the sound quality from such a small unit. Bought mainly for using on the beach and having access to all those songs.

Great sound quality, excellent price, longlasting battery charge. The remote control only handle the speaker system, not the ipod.
