Good lap protector, laptop protector September 21, 2008
I bought this product to use when balancing my laptop on my lap. It does a great job of keeping heat off my legs. However, the size of it means it will not fit inside my rolling laptop case. Which is a bummer. So I end up leaving it at home.

I've had a Lapinator Plus for at least six months now. It fits my widescreen HP well, and my legs are considerably cooler than when they were in direct contact with the laptop. There is still a small increase in temperature on the legs, but that seems inevitable with the amount of heat my laptop generates. I don't believe this item really helps keep the laptop itself cool, other than allowing a bit of air around it. There may be cheaper do-it-yourself alternatives or more effective high-dollar ones, but this has done what I needed and expected.
Side note: Lapinator accidentally sent me the regular model first, but when I informed them, promptly sent the Plus! model and allowed me to keep the first.

I have one under my 17" notebook. The top surface warped immediately. Lapinator includes rubber feet that you can stick to the top to raise the notebook away from the warped parts. You'll need them. Leg padding is good for about 30 minutes of use before becoming uncomfortable, especially with a larger notebook like mine. I need to get off the couch more anyway.

I bought my first Lapinator Plus to use with a MacBook. The first night I had it was the first night that I didn't have hot legs from using the laptop while watching TV. I mentioned it to my wife, and of course she wanted to try it to use with her Dell. She wouldn't give it back
So I ordered a second one.
Then my son came by and liked it so much iI offered it to him
So I ordered my third one
The Lapinator Plus board remains firm even when I'm banging on the keyboard, or just resting my hands on the keyboard. There is no distortion.
The pads on the bottom, which are what come in contact with your legs, are very comfortable and ensure that the board itself is not resting on your legs. Hence no leg heat.
Also, the bumpers are well done. The Dell has a fan vent on the bottom of the laptop, and the bumpers raise the rear end of the machine just enough to allow the vent to work properly. And, the bumpers keep the machine in place.
The product keeps the machine in place, keeps my legs cool and is wide enough for a mouse to sit alongside.
Wouldn't have ordered the additional Lapinators if I wasn't happy :)
