Amazon.com Programmable for automatically brewing "wake-up" coffee at a selected time, this coffeemaker brews up to 12 cups. A replaceable charcoal filter improves the water. Other features include a spray head that distributes water evenly through the ground coffee; a glass carafe with a stylish stainless-steel band; a scratch-resistant nonstick warming plate; cord storage in the rear (push in the cord to conceal it); a window that shows the water level; and a pause function for a midbrew pour when the carafe is removed. For peace of mind, you can program the warming plate to shut off at a specified time (up to four hours) after brewing. Clad in gleaming white plastic that easily wipes clean, the coffeemaker measures 13-3/4 inches high, 8 inches wide, and 11 inches deep (including the carafe handle), and carries a three-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack

Good coffee; hard to clean March 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This makes very tasty coffee, but is a pain to clean. Getting the basket out and drying the inside so you can brew another pot is more time consuming than any automatic drip maker I've owned. In the descriptions of the product it would have been good if there had been more detail on the factors involved in cleaning and setting the pot up for automatic brewing. The electronic part is a breeze; it's the physical part that is a pain!!
The best ones I've owned had a swing out basket for cleaning and putting fresh ground coffee in.
about coffeemaker March 12, 2008 Very good, dependable product. But beware of the advertisement it is misleading as it states it comes with a permanent filter which after receiving it, this statement is not true.
I like it March 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I purchased this coffe maker 3 years ago and I'm very satisfied with it. I want to purchase the water filter that comes with it, but have not been succesfull to find it here.
Pass on this incredibly messy coffee maker February 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've had this coffee maker for about 9 months. It makes coffee just fine for the first several weeks. The problem is the water reservoir and the drip/filter/basket assembly are not separated. This is a problem with all the Cuisinart coffee makers sharing this basic design. I grind my own beans or use Starbucks pre-ground or similar fine-ground coffees. Coffee grounds and dust get into the water reservoir, and coffee scum builds up in the reservoir and all around the drip mechanism and area under the lift-up top. There are lots of small crevices and corners where the scum accumulates, and it is not possible to take the unit apart and clean thoroughly. Rag wiping just seems to push coffee grounds back into holes in the drip mechanism. Coffee maker cleaners like Dip-It can be used to clean the water path, but the machine is still visibly dirty inside...really dirty. I've had Braun, Krupps and Starbucks Barista Aroma Grande machines. Never see one with this much of a coffee dirt problem. I think eventually coffee residue of any kind in the reservoir builds up on the heating element, taints the flavor of coffee, slows the brew process and eventually gums up and ruins the heating element. Don't buy this coffee maker.
Regarding the Cuisinart Coffee Maker DCC-270 January 28, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was online searching for a new filter for my coffee maker, which I'm having a hard time finding, when I came across these reviews and just wanted to give you mine. My Cuisinart DCC-270 is going on 9 years old. The only reason why I know that is, I now need a new filter and needed to check which kind I needed from the owners manual. I know it sounds like we might not be big coffee drinkers but we are. I guess I got lucky with my coffee maker it being this old and guess what, this will be my first replacement filter too.
