3 out of 5 stars Good for 5-6 months...   August 27, 2008
So I bought a pair of these, and they lasted for about half a year. Then one of the earbuds mysteriously died. Granted I used them for my ipod and at work - but was never brutal to them.

I bought a 2nd pair and like clockwork, 5-6 months later, the right earbud died on them.

I guess you get what you pay for - a $20 pair of headphones that last 6 months. I guess for the price, it's not too bad.

Would love though to find a pair of similar design - that last more than 6 months. :(

Gave this a 3 b/c while they worked, they were nice. But since they only last 6 months, not worthy of more stars.

1 out of 5 stars Bad product, bad service.   August 27, 2008
After seven months of mild usage (during which time the sound quality was pretty decent), the rubber insulation started stripping away and the headphones stopped working entirely. Contacted Sony customer service, and the only option they offered was to replace the headphones with a refurbished pair for $25. (A new pair is cheaper than that on Amazon.)

Boo, hiss. I'll know not to buy Sony next time.

3 out of 5 stars Sony MDR-EX51LP Fontopia Headphones   August 25, 2008
Pricey for the slight improvement in sound quality and the case is barely enough to provide a tiny extra bit of protection for your headphones. However, I got it for a cheap price from one of the third-party sellers on amazon, and it feels comfortable in my ear as compared to the regular earphones.

4 out of 5 stars Great headphones, but...   August 24, 2008
These headphones are great. I love these headphones, they have great bass and they do cancel outside noises. The only problem is, that they break easily that is why I purchased a 2 year replacement plan along with them. Guess what? As soon as my headphones broke I called my warranty company and explained the problem I had with my headphones (left ear phone stopped working). They asked me to ship back the headphones and that they would send me a check to cover the full purchase price.

I received the check today and I have no complaints. I can now purchase my headphones again =D. So, for those of you who are planning on buying these headphones don't forget to purchase an extended warranty plan along with it! You'll be paying $5.99 more, but it's worth it!

4 out of 5 stars Decent headphones for the price.   August 17, 2008
When I first tried to use these headphones they sounded absolutely awfull. No bass at all. Then I finally figured out that the ear buds have to be pushed further into your ear for it to work properly. Then they sound pretty good. They are decent headphones for the price.
