Product Description
Sunlight, daylight, incandescent, fluorescent, and other artificial light sources all have color characteristics that vary significantly. Filters give you better images by adjusting for these light variations. Film and video are rated for a particular color temperature such as that of daylight or tungsten light. Filters are used to correct differences in color temperatures between the recording medium and a light source.The 80A filter balances daylight film for use with most standard tungsten lighting, studio lighting and copy stand lighting.

Nice item, but Amazon is mucking things up September 29, 2008
Very clean piece of glass. I'm not to impressed with the color of the filter, would like it to be just basic black, but it'll do. I only use filters when I need to, not as extra piece of glass for safety. That's why I bought the ultra clear.
The Tiffen Digital HT Ultra Clear Filter was just released this year. BUT amazon.com has ALL of the reviews for Tiffen's filter lumped together for EVERY one they sell on their website.
AMAZON you have some cleaning to do, as well as you need to put some thought into upgrading your websites search function for items.

Item arrived on time. No problems visible even though it was an "open box". I've read this in other Amazon reviews about merchandise that came from Amazon. No harm as long as it works.

It's like not having anything on at all. But isn't that the point. It is there to take the abuse if an accidental bump to the lens happens. I think it is a wonderful investment to protect a $1700 lens.
