Product Description When folded, the SLIK MINI series tripods are about the size of standard telephoto lens, meaning they can be carried in your camera bag all the time so tripod support is always at hand! Besides its traditional use as a tripod, the SLIK MINI series have another great feature, the ability to use the tripod as a "Chest-Pod" camera support. To use it as a chest-pod, first loosen the locking collar around the center column, pull out (raise) the center column at least one inch and tighten. Then, with the legs spread, place the feet of the legs against your upper chest. Loosen the tripod head and position the camera so you can see through the viewfinder comfortably. This will better stabilize the camera and help avoid image degrading "camera shake."Small and light are what this tripod is all about. The SLIK MINI is an excellent and affordable table-top tripod. It has a maximum height of 8.5 inches and can hold up to 2.5 lbs. with its high impact plastic 2-way head built in. Perfect for positioning and holding a compact digital or film camera for those group photos where a self-timer is used.

I like it March 28, 2006 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This tabletop, and rock top too, is first of all, very well made. Adjusting the legs/height is easy, and I like being able to quickly change a view.
Mixed bag... January 8, 2005 36 out of 37 found this review helpful
This is a cool little tripod and the size is exactly what I wanted. However, my Canon EOS has some weight to it and this little guy just cannot hold it. I've cranked it down to the point I thought it would break and the head still slips. You have to hold the camera up - and just use this as additional support. For a small camcorder or point and shoot digital camera - this would be great. For a real film or digital SLR shooter who wants a really portable tripod - maybe. I'd consider something else...

This is a wonderful little robust tripod for low or ground shots. It is well built, study, rugged, and low cost. Highly recommended!
