The Kaplan Biology & Chemistry Essential Review presents core information on these two subjects with an appealing, easy-to-use interface. It covers hundreds of key topics, including photosynthesis, respiration, and molecular conversion. It also includes a complete periodic table, and exercises to build a solid science vocabulary. The practice tests help students track progress and identify areas for further study, and the brainstorming, outlining, glossary, and bibliography programs will improve homework assignments and papers. Students will also benefit from tutorials and quizzes for each chapter, test-taking tips and strategies, context-sensitive help, and word-search and crossword puzzles that reinforce content.Students can begin the program however they like. Some prefer to read the table of contents, choose a chapter, and begin their learning through reading and practice tests. Others may choose to explore various portions of the program, such as the tutorials, Tips and Strategies section, or the glossary. Students can also begin by taking a 25-question diagnostic test to determine mastery level. Upon completion of the test, Kaplan Essential Review provides a report of correct and incorrect answers. For each incorrect response, the program offers the correct answer and explains why it is correct. From that point, students can decide how they would like to direct their learning: They can explore a subject in which they need improvement, study the tutorials provided, work on crossword puzzles covering the content, read through the glossary, or take practice tests. They can then retake the diagnostic test to compare results.

 Really Enjoyed This April 1, 2007
My dad bought this for me and when I finally used it I was hooked. It reviewed like everything we'd been learning in my biology class which was great because I couldn't bring the textbook home and didn't like reading it anyway! This helps you make little flash cards and gives you little games to play and stuff. Since I like stuff being presented to me in this way it was love at first "play".
I lost it a couple years ago and never found it again which has really peeved me because I've been eager to dive back in! I never used the Chemistry part but it pry rocked too.
Is this the best program on this subject? No idea. But nonetheless I was happy.

Some educational software is held to very low standards and
this definitely falls in that category. When I chose this CD
based on the brand name, I thought that it was a safe decision.
Instead, it was a complete waste of money. The content is easily
available from any public library.More creative content is to be
found on the world wide web and doesn't cost a thing!
