Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The KX-TG9344T DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Phone with All-Digital Answering System lets you move freely around your home with long range and amazingly clear sound. It also assures greater protection against eavesdropping for all your calls. Operating in the 1.9GHz frequency range, your phone will not conflict with other wireless devices such as computer routers, wireless keyboards, microwave ovens and other common household devices. Now you can program each handset to ring at your discretion. Before going to sleep, simply set the bedside handset to Night Mode so that it won't ring in your bedroom. In the meantime, the handset in the den will still ring when that important call comes in, without disturbing the person who's sleeping. Now you don't have to be holding the phone to see who's calling. Using text-to-speech technology, the Caller ID information is announced between rings. The KX-TG9344T also boasts a talking alarm clock that will tell you when it's time for lunch, and a talking battery alert that politely tells you when your battery is low, with a "please charge phone" reminder. The Light-Up Indicator with Ringer Alert at the base of the antenna will flash quickly to show that you have an incoming call, and it will flash slowly to let you know you have a new message. So turn off the ringer and never miss a call. 3 out of 5 stars Backlighting   October 3, 2008
0 out of 1 found this review helpful

I just bought the Panasonic 9344T. I find it ridiculous that you can NOT select the amount of time for the backlight to stay on. It's only like 3 seconds. I called Panasonic and they said it's factory programmed and I can't adjust it. They said keep hitting a key to have it relight. Duh!!!
Also, the date does not show on the screen; only the time. I asked about that and they said no it won't show, it's only for the answering system.
No speed dial, no google 411 etc... When considering a phone, you can't read all about the phone without buying it and opening up the box to read the booklet.

I'm thinking of returning the unit after only 3 days......... Lena

5 out of 5 stars Great Phone   October 2, 2008
I read the reviews on this phone before I bought it and decided to go ahead with my purchase despite some of the so called "negative" features. I have the phone about a month and so far it's a good match for me. The voice quality is better on the 6.0 than previous phone systems that I owned, including messages (on my last system people thought I was talking on a cell phone because the voice would fade in and out, both mine and the caller's). Also, I can walk around the house away from the base phone and the voice quality doesn't change. True there is no red light flashing how many messages you have but, when you press the message button, it TELLS you. That's sufficient for me. All the phones charged up pretty quickly and you can leave a phone out of the charge cradle for a day or so and it won't die on you. I also like the small size (the phone fits right in my hand) and the cradle is a good fit for the phone. The only negative I have found so far is that if you use the speaker feature while talking to someone, you can't turn it off until you hang up. This isn't really a big deal. I got a great price from Amazon and I would definitely recommend this system.

4 out of 5 stars phones   September 30, 2008
No complaints so far. Clear sound. Comfortable handsets.
Only complaint: We wish the base answering machine had numbers designating number of messages on the machine.

5 out of 5 stars Works surprisingly well   September 26, 2008
I found the setup very intuitive, and every stored phone number replicates automatically to all the phones. I don't know how it does it, but this phone can tell when we have a Verizon voice mail (I have turned off the answering machine). Also STANDARD size rechargeable AAA batteries! All you need is common NiMh AAA batteries, once again someone listened. I put my base unit on a UPS so I will have phone service for several hours after a power outage.

5 out of 5 stars The most features offered plus great range   September 24, 2008
Everything I like about this unit and have expected from it since replacing my older KX-TG5020 (5gig unit):

- Backlit keypads (a must for low light)
- Ability to access answering machine via handsets (no getting up to go to the base for missed messages)
- Great range (old phone had tough time making it 50' outside... not now)
- Talking caller ID (a feature I had before and love being a lazy screener)
- Speaker phone on the handsets (waiting for evolution to grow me more than 2 hands)
- Edit phone book to have talking caller ID announce nicknames for callers (use caution on this one with the kids)
- Night time mode (turns ringer off during your set times in the bedroom handsets)
- Alarm clock (not used but in line with your current cell phone feature)
- keypad on the base (little used feature, but when all handsets are dead...)
- Conference calling with all handsets (good for grandparent/grandkids conversations)

All in all, this was an easy transition to a newer version of what I had. I like it a lot and my only complaint if I used the feature would be the message indicator on the base does not show a number for messages. It just shows an arrow and when the arrow is gone, you have no more messages waiting. It does tell you at the beginning verbally how many messages you have.

On another note I wish Panasonic would bring back the ability to save a message as new after playing so my wife can check the machine for a message she may have missed but I listened to it and forgot to tell her about it. That's just a marriage/communication issue that Panasonic needs to fix for me.
