A Disappointing Finale August 8, 2008 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
I've been a Twilight fan since the first book came out and from the beginning, I wanted Bella to become a vampire. I wanted the happy ending. Sadly though, this was not how I wanted the final book to turn out.
I thought everything was fine and dandy until I saw the baby thing coming. Don't even get me started on the name. The whole thing was awful. I actually had to put the book down and come back to it the next day. Bella and Edward aren't supposed to be able to have children. Also, I was under the impression that Bella didn't want any. From day one she didn't even want to get married. The second she got pregnant her entire personality changed. It was instantly "must save baby." I understand that any mother would feel that way for their child, but that's never been like Bella. The fact that she ran to Rosalie for help was the strangest. It was as if none of the information on the previous books mattered anymore.
I've never been a very big fan of Bella. She's seems like a very empty character. She spends a majority of the time feeling sorry for herself and is as stubborn as a mule. I wanted to see Bella become a deeper character in this book, but she didn't. Even after becoming a vampire.
Jacob imprinting on Bella's child also bothers me to no end. When he met that girl in the park I thought maybe she be "the girl" for him, but no, he runs off back to Bella. In love, everything doesn't turn out perfectly. Someone always ends up hurt. I wanted Jacob to meet a new girl and move on from Bella, but no. He imprints on the kid. I also find it creepy, especially since he's been in love Bella from the beginning. It just doesn't feel right.
So, from a long term fan's point of view, Breaking Dawn was disappointing . I'm happy that Bella and Edward will be together for eternity, but that's about all I can be happy about when it comes to this story.
Chill..... August 8, 2008 3 out of 7 found this review helpful
Wow, there are a lot of people who are taking this book way to seriously. I for one am grateful for the happy ending; anything else would have been devastating. Thanks Stephanie for letting a 32-year-old mom of three live in your vampire world for awhile, it was thrilling.
Is this for real? August 8, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
This book was a major disappointment. The only reason I finished it was in hope that it would get better. Unfortunately it went from bad to worse! The only good thing I can say, is that it was full of surprises. Not worth the time or money!
Amazing ending to an awesome series! August 8, 2008 4 out of 7 found this review helpful
I loved this book. I really don't think that it could have been written any other way. I thought it was a great ending to an even better series.
Is this really someone's bad fanfiction!? August 8, 2008 4 out of 8 found this review helpful
Who the heck wrote this book? I know it says "Stephenie Meyer" on the front, but that's a lie right?! I think it must have been some fourteen year old girl, because it reads like bad fanfiction. The characters are completely OOC and the whole storyline reads like a soap opera. What is going on here? There is almost no resemblence to the Bella and Edward from the first book, nor what made them so special. And Renesmee!? Someone please tell me this is not an award winning author's book! It's a mistake right? BAD FANFICTION, right?! If only there were ratings below 1 star....
