Product Description Constructed around a series of late night conversations around a camp fire between Cheryl Simone and Sadhguru Vasudev on an Island in the middle of a Western North Carolina lake near her mountain home, Midnights with the Mystic is the most thorough exposition of the teachings of India's most sought after mystic. Sadhguru challenges us to embrace the possibility that to each of us is available a higher realm of reality, a peak of consciousness; an entree into the realm of freedom and bliss. Concrete and down-to-earth, Midnights with the Mystic both provides readers with an introduction to profound spiritual teaching and a personal glimpse of a charismatic guru.

I was touched by Sadhguru's words July 7, 2008 Cheryl Simone and I share some of the same questions. I had a feeling Sadhguru was speaking to me.
yOga and spirituality delivered as a smoothie July 6, 2008 I'd call this book a 'Smoothie of yOga & Spirituality'. Cheryll Simone's genuine and elegant narration makes the read as easy as sipping a smoothie. Sadhguru ensures that each drop (statement) packed all the punch, flavor and substance of its ingredients viz. yOga & spirituality. This is probably the only 101 that makes you dip into the core many times within the few hours it takes to complete the reading. Needless to mention you'll come back to it over and over to devour every sip of it.
Review of Satguru Jaggi Vasudev's latest book July 6, 2008 Late in the evening, while reading some other books, found Midnight with the Mystic lying on the bedside table and picked it up, expecting a standard " New Age - Religious How to book ". But was pleasantly surprised by the authors honest and forth right approach. The reading initially seemed a little simplistic, but later that style became more endearing. Simone, seems to write from her heart almost a " Dear Dairy" style and that makes it more forthright and honest and it made it a very easy reading. She actually was able to paint her Massachusets background, and then Atlanta background and was very open about how she got married with a prison inmate. She is able to convey her healthy skepticism about religious leaders and slowly explains how she got drawn in by Sadguru. He again was devoid of religious trapping and says it the way it is. Fairly complicated subjects are handled with ease, could be attributed to his own awakening. Even his life story about how he evolved and what he exactly felt " where the whole world was becoming a part of me" was actually something that I could relate to. The book had a very calming affect on me and led me to think and ponder. Would recommend it to people wrestling with some of the age old questions. "
Nothing is as you think it is . . . . read this book! July 6, 2008 A friend of mine recommended me this book. After reading about Ms. Simone and her time with Sadhguru, I feel compelled to write my impression of this book, which reminds me so much of my own searching. While reading about Sadhguru's past plus his answers to Ms. Simone's questions, I had a few "goosebump" moments. In the past I have looked into, studied, or tried many different "spiritual" or new age activities, but nothing really has impacted me (especially not religion). It's just that I find myself urgently and deeply longing for the "process" or "practice" that Ms. Simone has found, so that I can finally and truly be on my way.
I want to experience joy and bliss for myself, not just by trying so hard through what others say! It feels like I have been sort of wasting my time until now, and I must get started now! Now I have no excuse to put off my search! I really don't know how this will turn out, but at the end of the book it shows the website with the same title; there are numerous opportunities to sign up for introductory programs all over the USA and abroad. So maybe now I can finally begin . . . . thank you Cheryl Simone and Sadhguru, for making this book available.
Simple, Straightforward and truly Enlightening... July 6, 2008 When I was first trying to learn more about who Sadhguru was and what he taught, here is what I had heard somebody describe him as ... "If you think, Sadhguru is someone who materializes things out of air, walks on water, and reads peoples minds- you are in for a surprise. And if you think not, you are in for a bigger surprise" And when I finished reading this book, I truly was amazed, surprised and awestruck at Sadhguru's wisdom. There is no doubt that only an enlightened being with such deep understanding of life can explain things with such great clarity. Cheryl's questions and experiences have been captured so beautifully and gives us a few rare glimpses of Sadhguru and who he really is.
To find a real guru, a true Guru or rather the best Guru or teacher is indeed the most common quest of most seekers like us, I am pretty sure and certain that this book would end that search for millions of people. Thanks Cheryl and Thanks Sadhguru.........
